Importance of Environmental Policies

Environmental Policies, Legislation and Plans are important aspects of the overall sustainable management of our natural resources and helps to ensure environmental stewardship. These guiding documents outline steps to ensuring a resilient future.

Grenada's Legislative Framework

As we have recognized, Grenada is particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change coupled with a plethora of human induced threats t such as pollution, deforestation and unplanned development. The legislative framework focuses not only on the plans and legislation of the Ministry of Climate Resilience, Environment and Renewable Energy, but is characterized by cross collaboration and inter agency collaboration such as collaboration with Forestry Division, Land Use and Agriculture and their associated pieces of legislation. Through an integrated approach we collectively ensure the sustainable future that we want.

International Standards for Protection

Of particular importance are the international standards and multi lateral environmental agreements that Grenada has signed on to including the Paris Agreement and the Convention on Biological Diversity. By adhering to these international standards, we are protecting our environment. Below are a list of Ministerial Policies, Legislation and Plans identifying national priorities.
